With the release of the new Sony Firmware 5.0 for the a9, you probably should never miss focus again. Of course, you can still miss focus, but the new Sony firmware does make getting hard to capture action in focus time and time again.

Hockey is one of the hardest sports to photograph, that's why I took the Sony a9 with firmware 5.0 out to a Flyers vs Carolina Hurricanes game to see how it would do. The new firmware allows me to focus on composition and the action more so then moving points around and missing the shots.
